Who do you stand up for?
Consider this: Cancer takes one person every minute. Brothers, sisters, fathers and mothers, husbands and wives, aunts, cousins, neighbords, friends, children... Every day in America, people are dying from this horrible disease. That's to say nothing of the worldwide death count. That means every day, Cancer is killing more people than homicide. If only you could arrest, prosecute and imprison a disease.
Today, in honor of the fight against Cancer, download this placard and post a photo of yourseld holding it, telling the world who you fight for. Post is to the Stand Up 2 Cancer Facebook page, tweet it, post it to your own profile or blog. The SU2C Facebook page is already populating with placards from across the globe. People of all ages, backgrounds, creeds, faiths, genders -- this disease does not discriminate.
And if you have a few extra bucks this month, make a donation to SU2C.
When I really make myself think about all the people I've known and loved who have been taken away by Cancer, or of the people I know still living that have battled it, I feel so overwhelmed with so many different emotions, I can't even think of how to explain it here...
