It is almost sad to go through my Fall TV list from last year. Of all the new shows I planned on tuning into, one remains in my regular rotation; "The Blacklist," which is amazing and for which James Spader deserves ALL OF THE EMMY AWARDS.
And even among the returning shows, I named 11 - I still watch just six (granted, one, "How I Met Your Mother," ended).
But as ever, I love television and my best laid plans have been made. Here are the new shows I can't wait to check out this year!
SCORPION (CBS) - I'm not totally sold but every time I see a commercial, something someone says makes me smile and I feel like it may appeal to both my love of crime procedurals and nerd humor. The cast includes Katherine McPhee which I find interesting.
GOTHAM (Fox) - I can't even begin to tell you how flippin' excited I am for this show. So. Much. Excited. Batman's a favorite and I love origins stories. I'm even willing to overlook Jada Pinkett Smith's role (I generally don't care for her but oh well).
THE FLASH (CW) - Did I mention I was excited for "Gotham?" I am just as excited, if not more so, for this. Grant Gustin was an adorable Barry Allen (The Flash's secret identity) on "Arrow."
FOREVER (ABC) - Another one I'm not totally sold on but will tune in because, frankly, I think its star, Ioan Gruffud, is kind of a Baldwin.
STALKER (CBS) - More crime procedural with the added bonus of Maggie Q (I loved "Nikita") and Dylan McDermott, whom I've loved since he walked Shelby down the aisle in her "blush and bashful" laden Church (and high-fives all arounf if you got that reference).
BLACKISH (ABC) - Is it controversial? Maybe not. I'm surprised I haven't seen more press on it, but then, I have been known to sleep under a rock from time to time. But I'm interested. The commercials are hilarious.
HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER (ABC) - Viola Davis gets her own one-hour drama and Shonda Rhimes is the woman behind it? Sold.
Two more shows I'm undecided on - BAD JUDGE (ABC), THE McCARTHYS (CBS). Because Kate Walsh (the first) and Joey McIntyre (the latter) could reel me in but the premises hold no appeal for me off the cuff.
And still on board with some returners, of course....
- THE VOICE (NBC) and SHARK TANK (ABC) - My stand out reality TV show indulgences. And I love them.
- CASTLE (ABC) - The cliffhanger at the end of last season? OMG.
- ONCE UPON A TIME (ABC) - This is my favorire. It cannot come back fast enough. And I ende up enjoying the mid-season show ABC added to follow it, RESURRECTION.
- ARROW - I have binge watched seasons one and two. Bring it to me!
- LAW & ORDER (SVU) and CHICAGO PD (NBC) - Somehow I cannot get into "Chicago Fire," though.
- BLUE BLOODS (CBS) - I still enjoy this show!
- BLACKLIST (NBC) - Obviously.
So you may be wondering how the hell I have time to watch this much TV? I don't. I won't. Some of them are gonna have to go. I will be ruthless in my cuts!!!
Tell me, please. What will you be tuning into?
