Something Fun in the Mail

I was amused by this when I saw it on my friend Jessica's Facebook page. (She's kind of a bug deal so when she says she likes something, I take it seriously.)

Dollar Shave Club sends quality blades to your door for a few bucks a month. It was invented by a dude tired of overpriced blades and of forgetting/refusing/denying to buy them each month. It's pretty much ow it sounds. For as little as $1 a month (I'm not joking), they send you a new razor. Every month. With blades. I actually took the $6/month razor - it just looked like a better idea - but I am sure the least expensive one is totally acceptable. And in any case, it sure beats the crap bics I buy all the time for too much money and forget to replace, keep too long, or somehow misplace... The whole idea of it just spoke to me. 

And if I wasn't already tempted to do it, their video really sold me.

 

Oh yeah-- they also have BUTT WIPES if you wanna add those to your monthly supply. That video is also awesome:

 

So yeah, I'm excited to try them out. My first shipment came super fast after my initial order. I am happy to let you ALL know that I plan to shave my legs with my new razor TOMORROW. I'm emphasizing that for the festishists out there. You're welcome.

Is it weird that I wanna try this?

GREEN MONSTER SMOOTHIE... smooth, refreshing and FULL of vitamins and good-for-you fruits and veggies! The reason this one is brown instead of green (like the traditional green monster smoothie) is because of the added strawberries and blueberries- those colors together give you….brown.

What is a green monster smoothie, you ask? It’s basically just a fruit smoothie with the addition of fresh spinach (an addition you can’t taste, but your body will thank you for!). Spinach is high in calcium, vitamin A and iron, to name a small few. This smoothie is a great solution for people wanting to get their daily fill of fresh fruits and vegetables; it’s SO good for you...

The beauty in these smoothies is that you can use any fruit you like- bananas, strawberries, peaches, plums…whatever! They make a great breakfast or quick power lunch and keep you full and satisfied!

Green Monster Smoothie

1 banana, roughly chopped
4 or 5 strawberries
1/2 cup fresh blueberries
1 small peach, peeled and roughly chopped
1 heaping cup (or more) fresh spinach leaves, thoroughly rinsed
splash vanilla soy milk
1 tablespoon Greek yogurt
2 teaspoons honey
1/2 cup crushed ice

Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Serve immediately.
This recipe makes a very large smoothie- two could easily share.

Type F

So here's how it goes:

• I LOVE Ellen Degeneres. I tivo her show every day.  
• I hate Tyra Banks. She annoys the crap outta me. 
• That said, I love "America's Next Top Model."
• So when Tyra was a guest on "Ellen," I chose not to fast forward.

So this is how I got to hear about Tyra's new venture, Type F.

Basically, you login, fill out a somewhat detailed physical profile of yourself (you may even upload a photo) and once you're done, the website contunues to provide you with content custom to your needs or your look.

I kind of love this idea.

It's not totally original but it has her name on it and it's sort of written and operated so simply that a dummy could get into it...

Mind you, there's still plenty of TYRA on the site. No one loves Tyra more than TYRA. (Did you hear she's dropping her last name, BTW? She's like Madonna and Cher, you know.)

So I'd tell you to check this site out... except like I said, Tyra annoys the crapoutta me.

Who knew?!

In the wake of one of my posts yesterday, Majorie commented on the Facebook wall that in fact, Lane Bryant DOES NOT have every size -- there are actually some limitations when you get into the larger sizes...

And she referred me to HerRoom.com, which I'd never heard of, and surfed in wonderment. It's fabulous! Not only do they sell a huge array of sizes, there's a lot of variety -- something that is often lacking in plus sizes, especially in lingerie!

So have at it, ladies.
