"How does a hockey fan such as yourself suck so much at the table hockey?" -John
He asks a good question; alas, I have no explanation. I mean, Meghan is arguable the most competitive table hockey player in the history of the world but I lost game 1, 7-2 and then game 2, 7-1. I sucked it up.
And though I do not enjoy bowling (I also suck at bowling, by the way), I did enjoy John's birthday party at the bowling alley as it allowed Meghan and I the opportunity to sit in judgement of all the fascinating creatures passing us by. It also gave us the opportunity to drool over cupcakes and marvel over the ankle-jean.
Yesterday morning, I cut my hair. Again. I waiver back and forth between hating it and loving it but there is nothing I can do to retract the impulse so I will settle on being content. I love the color-- which is not that different from my own, just a little richer. When my hair-dresser lifted up a section of my hair to reveal some graying roots, I commanded the dye. Hello old-lady-hair... I don't particularly feel gray hair is anything to be ashamed of but I'm still going to fight it off. Fuck you, gray hair.
My father finally found a deal on a car he was happy with (don't ask) so I rushed out the door this morning to go to VALENCIA of all places and buy my new car. I've been so stressed out this last month (read: last YEAR) with financial problems and as I've been car shopping since AUGUST, I was really exhausted. I would have driven a soapbox car if you told me to by this point so I wasn't really teaming with pride to finally get something. But I do like it. I'm exhausted now but I'll warm up to loving it.
It doesn't quite feel like the holidays to me. I hope this cold weather stays for a while and the people at work stop acting like asshats (seriously- they've been making fun of me for being Jewish while they puke Christmas all over the office and I'm over it). The holiday spirit will strike me soon. I remain optimistic. I'm predicting next Sunday, by about 5:00, when Ellen hops on Nicole's back for her annual ornament-party-ride...
