FTC Nonsense (they don't sepcify that I have to be polite about it): I was provided with samples of this product in exchange for posting. Because when someone offers to send you ice cream in the mail, you say YES.
Happy National Ice Cream Month, everybody!
Yep, apparently this is a thing.
Not that I'm complaining. On Saturday night, I celebrated by enjoying some RIDICULOUS bourbon and bacon ice cream courtesy of Coolhaus at an outdoor movie screening I attended.
And as yesterday was actually National Ice Cream DAY, I basically had to eat some ice cream and mark the ocassion, right? (Seriously, who invented this? Kudos on you, man. Well done. Let me know when you invent National Sour Patch Kids Day and National Stay in Bed and Skip Work Day, m'k?)
Enter: Halo Top Creamery.
Created by Justin Woolverton, a former corporate attorney who left that profession to pursue his passion for creating a truly delectable but guilt-free ice cream, Halo Top is available at Sprouts and other markets in California, as well as in stores around the country. Dubbed “Halo Top” with golden lids to match, the new ice cream is not only low-calorie, it’s the right kind of low-calorie: protein-rich, low in sugar and, for the first time ever for a low-calorie ice cream, made with only all-natural ingredients.
Halo Top comes in four flavors with an MSRP of $5.49 per pint: Vanilla Bean, Chocolate, Lemon Cake and Strawberry.
You know what the most awesome delivery you'll ever get is? ICE CREAM. Can I just come home to that on my doorstep on a regular basis? Who's got a Netflix for ice cream I can try? I mean, I get my razor blades delivered - it stands to reason an ice creamery is just dying to bring me goods on a routine basis.
I hope they come out with more flavors -- I would love to try a pistachio version. The texture is just like regular ice cream. It's not going to taste just like Ben & Jerry's but it tastes like ice cream to me, and that's good enough because dear lord, it's only 70 calories per serving (80 for chocolate - chocolate is a bastard)!
