You have probably heard by now that for the first time in eight million years (I'm exaggerating but for for reals, this never happens), Hanukkah is overlapping with Thanksgiving.
Because we're awesome, us Jews run the Hebrew calendar on a lunar/solar cycle. Don't ask me to explain exactly what that means -- I slept through that part of Hebrew School. And it's not like anyone lives their day-to-day by that calendar (or maybe they do? Like I said -- I slept), but it dictates our holiday dates.
In the end, all I know for sure is I did not get a Menurkey for Hanukkah this year. Which is a tragedy. But I really like saying the word "Menurkey."
