When last we left our brave Las Vegas heroines, they were safely transported to Sin City, snug in their Plaza hotel beds.
But alas, how would they eat?
Pretty damned well as it turned out.
This trip continued to surprise me with off-strip adventures. We were already staying downtown but come Saturday night, we headed even further out to the shiny, fabulous (seriously, it is) Town Square mall to enjoy dinner at The Sugar Factory American Brasserie.
This is actually one of six Vegas SF locations -- three of which are "American Brasseries." Sugar Factory American Brasserie treats guests to a one-of-a-kind dining experience, serving decadent and tasty fare to satisfy sweet and savory cravings, alike. Their menu is one of the best books I've ever read! ;)
The mouthwatering menu was crafted by a team of world-class chefs and features signature items such as Pan Roasted Pacific Salmon, Filet Mignon, along with classic favorites such as pizzas, pastas, salads, fresh seafood, steaks, sandwiches, burgers and more. Their over-the-top dessert menu includes signature sweet treats such as fondue selections and the King Kong Sundae with 16 different scoops of ice cream (we almost passed out when we saw two being served at a nearby table), along with homemade gelato, milkshakes, ice cream sundaes, pastries... Has the sugar coma set in yet?
My favorite part of the meal was the onion soup. It was to die for. And the dessert sure didn't suck. ;)
And don't even get me started on the drinks. The drink menu is like none other. If you don't go for the food, go for the cocktails, I beg you. They are well-known for its 36-ounce alcohol-infused smoking candy goblets such as the Lollipop Passion, adorned with candy necklaces and swirly lollipops and the White Gummi, a playful blend of fruit and floating gummi worms (Xenia had one and shared - I can personally vouch for how yummy it is). The delicious drink menu is also known for its wide martini selection including the one I ordered -- the DELICIOUS Blow Pop Martini, finished off with a Pop Rocks rim and Blow Pop in the glass! A drink and a treat at the end? Done. Sold. (This is why I drink dirty martinis, remember? I like drinks that come with a snack!)
The food is delicious, the sweets are ridiculous and the drinks are insane but push all that aside. It's just super fun to eat at Sugar Factory! If you're not able to get to Vegas to check it out but you're here in LA, fear not! They do have a Hollywood location. And they're expanding even further with locations coming soon to San Diego, D.C., Chicago, Boston and more!
Julie is double fisting some beverages... I also had the white chocolate martini pictured bottom-left. I could swim in it - it was decadent and delicious.
Crap. Now I'm STARVING. Someone fetch me a blow pop and a bowl of onion soup, would you? Sounds like a quality lunch to me. Don't judge.
