So here's something weird about me -- I don't like tomatoes.
That fact alone isn't that weird. Here's why it's weird -- I don't like tomatoes, but I like ketchup, marinara sauce, sun dried tomatoes, roasted tomatoes (sometimes), salsa... Tomato is a wonderful flavor but actual tomatoes? Slimy, yucky, gross to me.
I recently added tomato juice into my weird tomato-hate/love portfolio. This is great news because it also means I can occasionally enjoy a bloody mary with brunch. Or dinner. Or on a Sunday afternoon while I'm drafting blog posts in my jammies, watching Law & Order reruns. (That is totally hypothetical.)
Motherlode Provisions is a family-owned/operated business in Boulder, CO whom I had the privilege of meeting at the Natural Products Expo. All I said was what a vodka fan I was and next thing I know, these generous people sent me home with a big, beautiful bottle of bloody mary mix.
And by god, it. is. delicious. It is all-natural, from fresh tomatoes, citrus, spices, carrots, herbs... It is vegan and gluten-free and the packaging is elegant. The recommended dosage is two-parts mix, one part vodka with whatever garnish you enjoy (I recommend a piece of bacon). You'd better believe I added some vodka to it the first time I tried it at home, but I've also enjoyed it sans liquor as just a delicious, nutritious veggie treat, which I need more of in my life.
It's just rich and ever so tasty. The spices provide a great kick but it's not over-powering or too spicy for this wimp to handle.
Motherlode also sells BBQ sauces and hot sauce, also all-natural.
I really recommend giving them a look and picking up a bottle for yourself. Keep an eye out -- I expect them to add a bevvy of California retailers to their shop list soon and I will be the first in line to get more (because my bottle may be elegant but now it's elegant and empty)! They will also open an online shop soon.

And by the way, you're welcome for skipping any puns with "motherload" references. I totally could have gone that way but practiced some old fashioned self control because I'm a responsible grown up and stuff.
Disclosure: Did you read the post? I mean, they just gave me a bottle! I didn't have to review it -- I just chose to. And thusly, all opinions are my own.
